{"id":14309,"date":"2022-12-30T09:22:41","date_gmt":"2022-12-30T09:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsreservoir.com\/?p=14309"},"modified":"2022-12-30T09:22:41","modified_gmt":"2022-12-30T09:22:41","slug":"late-ohanaeze-ndigbo-a-great-diplomat-obasanjo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsreservoir.com\/?p=14309","title":{"rendered":"LATE OHANAEZE NDIGBO, A GREAT DIPLOMAT &#8211; Obasanjo"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">LATE OHANAEZE NDIGBO, A GREAT DIPLOMAT &#8211; Obasanjo<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">Zainab Tanimu<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">Tributes have continued to pour over the death of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, President-General Prof. George Obiozor.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">The the former Nigerian Ambassador to the United States of America (USA) has been described as a man of high esteem who had the interest of Nigeria at heart.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">Former Nigeria President, Olusegun Obasanjo has in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, described him as a great diplomat.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">He was an icon and true Nigerian, he said who will be remembered for his commitments displayed in positions held both at home and abroad.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Ambassador Obiozor would be fondly and proudly remembered as a foremost multilateralist, an erudite scholar, a passionate nationalist, and a diplomatic legend of international repute. He was an icon and a true Nigerian.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThe good work he did while he served as Nigerian Ambassador to Israel and the United States of America was a fitting complement to my administration\u2019s painstaking efforts to re-make the international profile of our dear country&#8221;. Obasanjo added.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The statement also said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Obasanjo noted that \u201cObiozor acquitted himself as a peace-loving, unassuming and committed patriot. He was a firm believer in democracy and participatory governance.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cUntil his death, he built for himself an impressive profile of immense goodwill and affection among his people.
