The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has introduced a new strategy for the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n
\n
\n
It said this time around, it has<\/p>\n
decided that it will not use University Lecturers as returning officers for the 2023 election but rather will use only its staff for the exercise.<\/p>\n
\n
\n
The National Commissioner & Chairman<\/p>\n
Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye made this known in a press statement dated Thursday 5th January 2023, which was made available to newsmen.<\/p>\n
\n

\n
To this end, INEC inaugurated the ‘Committee for National Situation Room and Collation Center’ for the 2023 general election which comprises the following.<\/p>\n
\n
1. Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu, National Commissioner – Chairperson<\/p>\n
2. Prof. Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, National Commissioner – Member<\/p>\n
3. Barr. Festus Okoye, National Commissioner – Member<\/p>\n
4. Director, Electoral Operations – Member<\/p>\n
5. Director, ICT – Member<\/p>\n
6. Director, Planning and Monitoring – Member<\/p>\n
7. Director, Security – Member<\/p>\n
8. Director, Election & Party Monitoring – Member<\/p>\n
9. Director, International Cooperation & Protocol \u2013 Member<\/p>\n
10. Director, Research \u2013 Member<\/p>\n
11. Director, Health Services \u2013 Member<\/p>\n
12. Director, Estate, Works and Transport \u2013 Member<\/p>\n
13. Chief Technical Adviser to the Chairman \u2013 Member<\/p>\n
14. Special Adviser to the Chairman \u2013 Member<\/p>\n
15. Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman \u2013 Member<\/p>\n
16. Director, Commission Secretariat \u2013 Member\/Secretary<\/p>\n

The Situation Room and Collation Centre Committee was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who charged it to commence work in earnest and to discharge its responsibilities diligently.<\/p>\n
