Nigeria Decides 2023: Nigerians Hopeful of Free, Fair, Credible Elections<\/p>\n

Today, 25th February, 2023, Nigerians have trooped out to perform their civic rights by casting their ballots to choose candidates of their choice.<\/div>\n

Reports so far indicate that the election has been very peaceful.<\/div>\n
Accreditation and voting went on smoothly as voters within the shortest period of time were done and went back\u00a0 home.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Many have applauded the reforms and technological revolution in our electoral process which has removed some hiccups and made voting easy.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n
The new innovation by INEC whereby the elderly, pregnant women, and physically challenged are given preference has also been applauded.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Another thing that has played out in the new democratic dispensation is the centralization of the polling units which has made the process simple.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Also commendable is the federal government’s introduction of biometric\u00a0 voting system.(BV) and prayed that is sustained.<\/div>\n
Though there were little hitches here and there as there were late arrival of election materials in some few polling units<\/div>\n
but on a general note hopeful process.<\/div>\n

The efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s\u00a0 (INEC), Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, have been commended.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In one of his briefings he had said the deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) with its dual fingerprint and facial biometric accreditation process will ensure that only genuine voters are accredited to vote during election.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
It is meant to curtail the incidences of multiple voting and other sharp practices associated with voter accreditation during elections.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Also recognized was the efforts of the security agents who are helping to secure the society.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
