The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani \u00a0has raised an alarm over plans to conduct indirect primaries in Kaduna state at the fort-coming elections. .<\/p>\n
This alarm was raised on Thursday during a press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat Kaduna.<\/p>\n
APC he said cannot change the political landscape of the country therefore has to do the needful.<\/p>\n
The lawmaker had observed that many things were wrong as such they have taken a position.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are three issues here reached: first, there is litigations as regards to legitimacy of the existing executives and delegates in the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cSecondly, we were excluded from participating in the congresses.<\/p>\n
\u201cThirdly, indirect primary is simply about fear of the people.\u00a0 You don\u2019t want to subject yourself to the people.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd fourthly, is the very fact that APC cannot change the political landscape of Nigeria by adopting a system of cash and carry.\u00a0 You pay to be elected, that must be fought if we want to instill discipline and order in our democratic system. We\u00a0 must make it possible for men of \u00a0honour, principles and ideas to triumph \u00a0into office through a credible and transparent process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe position taken by the party today is a request to the National Secretariat of the party.\u00a0 We have also made our position very clear so it is left for the national secretariat to take a position.<\/p>\n

In the same vain Senator Sani Salleh who is also vying for same seat with the serving senator, Shehu Sani \u00a0has raised an eyebrow over such decision. Conducting indirect election he said cannot be in the interest of the people who are meant to be represented.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am an aspirant to the office of the senator, North Central Kaduna District, \u00a0l do not agree to the indirect methods of the primaries because of obvious reasons.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the reasons is the manners in which the congresses were conducted.-It was organized in such a way that certain individuals were given the opportunity to select the entire executive members from every wards and LGs in the states.<\/p>\n
\u201c It was not fair and l do not think l would be doing justice to myself to subject myself to general election under such condition.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe second aspect is the fact that there is a litigation presently on the conduct of the congresses and if l subject myself to an election under that condition and l am elected by illegal Excos then the whole thing will be an exercise in futility because it can be nullified by the court.<\/p>\n
The fairest thing is to throw this thing open if you are not afraid of the people you are aspiring to represent. \u00a0Subject yourself to election by them\u201d He added. .<\/p>\n
When asked, if at the end of the day the drama happens to be in favor of the state, whether he was going to opt out of the party?. He simple had this to say.<\/p>\n
