The Kano State Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday nullified the election of Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf, candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP).<\/p>\n

The tribunal has declared Nasiru Yusuf-Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC), winner of the March 18 governorship election.<\/p>\n

\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Delivering judgement, the three-man panel, led by Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay, held that the margin of votes scored by NNPP was invalid and was not conducted in compliance with the 2022 electoral act.<\/p>\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
The total of 165,663 votes were deducted from Yusuf\u2019s total by the court as invalid votes.<\/p>\n
The affected ballot papers it said were not stamped or signed and therefore declared invalid.<\/p>\n
