Importance of Fasting on the day of Arafat<\/p>\n

Fasting on the day of Arafat is a deed most cherished in the sight of Allah.<\/p>\n

It is therefore good for every Muslim to try as much as possible to fast on this day in order to attract the reward.<\/p>\n

Fasting on the day of Arafat\u00a0 is recommended sunnah, and earns great reward. It attracts the forgiveness of our sins, not only in the year just gone, but in the year to come.<\/p>\n

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the day of ‘Arafah and he said: \u201cI ask Allah that it may expiate for (the sins of) the year that comes before it and the year that comes after it.\u201d According to another report he said: \u201cIt expiates for the past and coming years …<\/p>\n

What does the Quran say about the day of Arafat?<\/p>\n

The Day of Arafah (Arafat) is one of the most important days for Muslims. Allah (SWT) refers to this day in Surah al-Maidah of the Holy Quran.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday I have perfected your faith for you, completed My favour upon you, and chosen Islam as your way.\u201d<\/div>\n

It\u2019s the day on which He perfected His religion, completed His favours upon His beloved Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa, and chosen Islam as a way of life!<\/div>\n

Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa also said:<\/div>\n

\u201cThere is no day on which Allah frees people from the Fire more so than on the day of Arafah. He comes close to those (people standing on Arafah), and then He reveals before His Angels saying, \u2018What are these people seeking.\u201d (Muslim)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In a Hadith Qudsi, Allah says:<\/div>\n

\u201cAll the deeds of the son of Adam are for him, except fasting, which is for Me and I shall reward for it.\u201d (Bukhari)<\/div>\n

What to do on the Day of Arafah?<\/div>\n

On this day especially, be sure to increase your dhikr, recitation of the Quran, good deeds and duas before the morning of Eid.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

The takbeerat of Eid should be recited by everyone out loud after each prayer from Fajr on the Day of Arafah (the 9th of Dhul Hijjah), as well as throughout Eid until after Asr on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah.<\/div>\n
