HEALTH CARE DELIVERY SYSTEM GETS A BOOST AS HEALTH RECORDS PRACTITIONERS KEY INTO SYSTEM

\nEmployers of labor in Health Sectors have been charged to always employ qualified Health Records Practitioners with a view to achieving the desired results in the Health care delivery system in the country.
\nThis charge was made by the Registrar \/ Chief Executive Officer of Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Mami while fielding questions from newsmen in Kaduna.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Alhaji Mami said record keeping is not only key in hospitals but in all the human activities.
\n\u201cHealth Records Practitioners (Health Information Management) keep confidential records that have values for the continue treatment of patients; education, research, planning and legal values among others\u201d, he emphasized.<\/p>\n

There is the need for management of hospitals nationwide to involve heads of Health Records in planning considering the importance of their functions in the health sector of the economy.<\/p>\n

He appealed to all the Health Records officials to always update their knowledge most especially in the information and communication technology (ICT) for the success of their work as well as being abreast with the changing world..<\/p>\n

Alhaji Mami who is also the chairman of the Committee of Registrars of the Health Professionals, (CRHP) said his Board is committed towards establishing a culture of excellence in the health information management. As such the board in collaboration with the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) and other relevant agencies are working assiduously in ensuring that all the institutions running health information management uphold academic excellence in their service delivery.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
