Gov Radda Flags-off Two Road Project in Funtua, pledges better life for Citizens<\/p>\n
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda,has flagged off two road\u00a0 projects connecting Sheme to Unguwar Mai Kanwa, Faskari and the 12 Kilometer Kasuwar Mata, Funtua Dandume\u00a0 road.<\/p>\n
The two projects valued at N6,931,531,389.96, will be executed under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP<\/p>\n
“We will renovate and upgrade the popular Sheme market this financial year,\u201d Governor Radda declared during the ceremony, adding that the market would be reopened to stimulate economic activities in the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis administration will leave no stone unturned in ensuring improved quality of lives for all citizens of Katsina State,\u201d the Governor emphasized.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have invested heavily to ensure the actualization of this project, and I urge all stakeholders to guard it against vandalization,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
A statement signed and issued by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to Gov Radda said Radda further expressed gratitude to the federal government and the development partners, including World Bank and Agence Francais Development, for their support in making RAAMP program a reality and for complementing government efforts in improving the quality of lives of rural populace through the provision of infrastructural facilities and agricultural marketing.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Rural and Social Development, Prof. Abdulhamid Ahmed, described the project as \u201canother landmark achievement of Governor Dikko Radda toward improving rural economy.\u201d<\/p>\n
He noted the area\u2019s agricultural significance, saying, \u201cBeing an agrarian community with a large number of people who depend on farming for their livelihood, the community must guard this project against vandalization to ensure its longevity<\/p>\n
Dignitaries at the event\u00a0 include Secretary to the Government of the State, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari, Chief of Staff, Government House, Hon Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, members of the State Executive and legislative arm of the state.<\/p>\n
