Family Announces the Demise of Former Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari<\/p>\n

The death has been announced of the former President, Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n

This was announced in an official statement released by family spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, late Buhari died in London at about 4.30 pm, on Sunday, July 13, following a prolonged illness.<\/p>\n

It reads:<\/p>\n

“INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHIR RAJI\u2019UN.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin.”<\/div>\n

President Buhari was Nigeria’s military head of state between 1983 and 1985.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He served as civilian president from 2015 to 2023 and was one man known for\u00a0 anti- corruption crusade.<\/div>\n
