Kaduna Bubbles As FOMWAN Kickstarts National Conference<\/p>\n

FOMWAN on Wednesday, 20th August 2025, kick-started it National Conference\/40th Anniversary Celebration in Kaduna.<\/p>\n

The celebration which brought together members across the states and abroad is meant to showcase it years of achievements and to strategize way forward towards\u00a0 actualising its dreams for better future for womanhood.<\/p>\n

FOMWAN National Amirah Rafiah Idowu in\u00a0 her opening speech appreciated the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ for their continuous efforts in the dissemination of information to the public.<\/p>\n

She thanked the state government for the privilege given to host the event in Kaduna and the governor, for his supportive role to the course of women and children.<\/p>\n

“We express profound gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, and the gracious people of Kaduna State for their warm hospitality. We have experienced a peaceful, secure, and welcoming atmosphere, a stark contrast to the apprehensions of years past. May Allah, in His Mercy and Majesty, continue to guide and protect our brother, the Governor, granting him wisdom, strength, and increasing knowledge.”<\/p>\n

The Amirah commended\u00a0 FOMWAN Kaduna Chapter for the building of FOMWAN hospital which provides health services to members of the community.<\/p>\n

FOMWAN she informed, is not resting on its laurels as there is plan on the pipe line to have FOMWAN university.<\/p>\n

Lamenting the situation in Palestine, the war on Gaza, the association calls for global intervention to bring an end to the killings of innocent women and children being carried out by the day .<\/p>\n

“We cannot remain silent in the face of the ongoing humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. For months, the world has watched with deep sorrow as innocent lives; women, children, the elderly, and even humanitarian workers and journalists, have been cut short in relentless attacks and bombings.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Homes, schools, hospitals, and places of worship have been destroyed, leaving families in despair and communities shattered.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“As an organisation founded on faith, justice, and compassion, FOMWAN strongly condemns these atrocities and stands firmly with the oppressed people of Palestine facing genocide.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“We frown at what is happening there, particularly the indiscriminate killings of women, children, and journalists, acts that violate every standard of humanity and international law. We call for global solidarity, for an end to the bloodshed, and for urgent humanitarian support to restore dignity and hope to those who suffer.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“Above all, we turn to Allah, the Most Just and the All-Merciful, praying that He grants relief to the people of Gaza, patience to the bereaved, healing to the wounded, and liberation to the oppressed.<\/div>\n

The association focuses on five thematic areas. She explained.<\/p>\n

\u00a01. Da’awah – The Propagation of Islam in its completeness.<\/div>\n
2. Education – Both Islamic and Western, which has inspired the establishment of nearly 3,000 basic schools in local government arcas where FOMWAN is present.<\/div>\n
3. Community Development – strengthening societal structures through service and advocacy.<\/div>\n
4. Healthcare Initiatives – Promoting Accessible, Affordable, and Quality<\/div>\n
Health for Women and Children.<\/div>\n
5. Capacity Building – equipping women and youth with skills to thrive in modern society without compromising their values.<\/div>\n
She prayed for continues peace in the state.<\/div>\n

National Amirah, Mrs Rafiat ldowu Sanni is the 10th Amirah of FOMWAN.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
She Appreciated His Highness for the warm reception accorded the women among who are delegations from Ghana and United Kingdom.<\/div>\n
