<\/p>\nNASFAT Doka Branch Urges Muslim Women to Be Ambassadors of Faith at Inspiring Women\u2019s Week Celebration<\/p>\n

The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, (NASFAT), Doka Branch, Kaduna, has charged Muslim women to remain true ambassadors of Islam by upholding its values in their homes, workplaces, and communities.<\/p>\n

The call was made by the Women Affairs Secretary of the branch, Hajiya Bashira Sheidu, during the 2025 Women\u2019s Week Celebration themed \u201cRooted in Faith, Rising with Vision: Muslim Women Transforming the World.\u201d<\/p>\n
In her opening remarks, Hajiya Bashira expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the gift of life and faith, describing the occasion as a moment to reflect on the strength and influence of Muslim women in shaping a better society.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing rooted in faith means holding firmly to the principles of Islam \u2014 modesty, patience, piety, and service to humanity,\u201d she said. \u201cOur strength must come from the Qur\u2019an and Sunnah. But being rooted does not mean being passive; it means rising with vision \u2014 taking bold steps toward transforming our communities through education, empowerment, and moral leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n
She described the Women\u2019s Week as \u201ca call to action\u201d \u2014 urging women to embrace their divine purpose, deepen their Islamic knowledge, and take active roles in shaping the future.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet us live by our faith, rise with purpose, and continue transforming our world through knowledge, service, and good character,\u201d she charged.<\/p>\n
Hajiya Bashira also commended the branch leadership, led by Hon. Musbahu Adepoju, for their constant support, as well as the organising committee chaired by Alhaji Abdullateef Lanre Jimoh, for their dedication and hard work.<\/p>\n

The week-long celebration declared open by the Vice Chairman Doka branch, Alhaji Abdullateef Lanre Jimoh featured lectures, empowerment sessions, outreach<\/p>\n programs, health awareness activities, and special recognitions for members and non-members who contributed to the branch\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n The guest lecturer, Dr. (Mrs.) Safiya Isa Kaita, delivering a thought-provoking lecture titled \u201cParenting in the Light of Islam: Navigating Contemporary Issues with Wisdom\u201d emphasised effective parenting in Islam which she said begins with spiritually grounded parents, as \u201cyou cannot give what you do not have.\u201d<\/p>\n Quoting the Qur\u2019an, she reminded parents of their sacred trust:<\/p>\n \u201cO you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families from a fire whose fuel is people and stones.\u201d (Qur\u2019an 66:6)<\/p>\n Dr. Kaita urged parents to be proactive in addressing modern challenges, including the moral pressures and digital distractions confronting today\u2019s youth.<\/p>\n \u201cParenting in the light of Islam is both an act of devotion and a means of societal reform. By embodying prophetic wisdom \u2014 balancing mercy with firmness, faith with foresight \u2014 parents can raise a resilient and faithful generation,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n The empowerment session, jointly anchored by Hajiya Rakiya Abutu and Alhaji Abdullateef Lanre Jimoh, underscored the importance of self-development beyond financial independence.<\/p>\n They encouraged women to engage in productive skills such as tailoring, soap-making, and digital entrepreneurship, with<\/p>\n Sister Maryam Adekunle highlighting how social media can be a powerful tool for business growth and financial stability.<\/p>\n Branch Chairman, Hon. Musbahu Adepoju, praised the women\u2019s commitment and called for stronger family foundations built on faith and mutual support.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you train a woman, you train a nation,\u201d he noted. \u201cIf men play their roles with sincerity and provide adequately for their families, issues like drug abuse and moral decay among youth would greatly reduce.\u201d<\/p>\n Other speakers, including Hajiya Jemila Dumoye and Dr. Mairo, reflected on the loss of communal parenting traditions, urging families to return to values of collective responsibility and moral discipline.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the past, a child was raised by the community. Today, many parents reject correction from others.
