The atmosphere at the NASFAT Kaduna Main Mosque was filled with joy, gratitude, and reflection as members gathered for a double celebration \u2014 the inauguration of new branch executives and the grand finale of the 2025 Women\u2019s Week. The event, attended by members from across branches, family, and friends, marked a new chapter of leadership and unity in faith.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Outgoing Chairman,\u00a0Alhaji AbdulAkeem Adeniji<\/strong>, in his farewell speech, expressed deep appreciation to the branch for the unwavering support his team received during their two-year tenure. He reflected on key achievements, including mobilizing over\u00a0\u20a612.2 million<\/strong>\u00a0through Zakat and Sadaqah for community empowerment, securing certificates of occupancy for four plots of land, and expanding the NASFAT Model School with new classrooms and laboratories.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the efforts made to strengthen transparency by harmonizing all branch accounts and completing a full external audit. \u201cToday marks another milestone in the history of our branch,\u201d he said. \u201cLeadership is not an end but a continuum \u2014 an opportunity to renew ideas and drive greater impact.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Taking over the mantle of leadership,\u00a0Alhaji Suleiman Aliebiosu<\/strong>, the newly sworn-in Chairman, thanked members for their trust and pledged to build upon his predecessor\u2019s achievements. \u201cLeadership is a sacred trust,\u201d he said. \u201cWe must remember that Allah will hold us accountable for how we serve. My doors will always remain open to advice and constructive criticism.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Chairman of the Inaugural Ceremony,\u00a0Air Commodore Sherrif Lawal<\/strong>, Commandant, Literacy Centre, Nigerian Air Force Base Kaduna, reminded the new executives that leadership in Islam is a call to service, not a pursuit of power or position. \u201cIf you lead with sincerity and in accordance with the teachings of Allah and His Prophet (SAW), success will surely follow,\u201d he urged.<\/p>\n

Delivering his lecture titled, “Leadership And Responsibilities,” the presenter, Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Badawiy, Lecturer, Accounting Department, Distance Hearing Center, ABU Zaria called on\u00a0 members to take their worship seriously emphasizing that everyone cannot be a leader.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u00a0He cited example from the Quran where Allah said, few are chosen amongst many to lead. Urging them to give whoever is chosen as leader maximum cooperation and support so that they can lead successfully.<\/div>\n

He drew a lesson by saying if one feels bad that his or her friend is not considered for a position of leadership and for such reason decides not to attend asalat (prayers) then such a person never had pure intention. Such a person has no sincerity in worship but doing “eye service”. Allah he said will not be pleased with such individual. He advised that whoever Allah chooses as leader should be accepted in good faith and given the needed assistance.<\/div>\n

He lamented the situation whereby outgone executive members become inactive the moment they finish their tenure. Some even seize to attend the usual weekly asalat prayers. Such behaviour he described as unproductive to the growth of the society because they are expected to support the newly elected excos members with their wealth. There should be consistency for the society can grow stronger.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The erudite scholar commending the missionary board members for their good job, noted that missionary board had always remained consistent thus a force to be reckoned with in its spiritual performance.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He charged members to show support and assistance to whomsoever is in a position of leadership for Allah gives power to whomsoever ‘He’ wills.<\/div>\n

Leadership comes with certain responsibilities. He stressed. Not only that, a leader must possess certain qualities amongst which is the ability to lead by example.<\/div>\n

As contained in the holy Quran, he explained.<\/div>\n
The position of leadership is a position “for just few people. Allah said a good leader must have some criterias “We have chosen for them few people to lead them.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
A leader is somebody who has that power and capacity to impact positively on other people. Some leaders are so powerful that even if they are not present, their presence are being felt.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
A leader is someone who can lead to\u00a0 a direction where you can get good impact for the society.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Earlier, the Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Saheed Popoola Gambari<\/strong>, commended the outgoing executives for their achievements and encouraged the new team to sustain the tempo.<\/p>\n

Similarly,\u00a0Engr. Muhyideen Alimi Yusuf<\/strong>, National Project Secretary of NASFAT, lauded the smooth leadership transition, describing it as a sign of maturity and organizational strength.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the event was the\u00a0Women\u2019s Week Grand Finale<\/strong>, themed\u00a0\u201cRooted in Faith, Raising Vision: Muslim Women Transforming the World.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0The keynote address was delivered by\u00a0Hajiya Nafisat Musa Isa<\/strong>, Amirah of FOMWAN Kaduna State Chapter, who explored the enduring strength and influence of Muslim women throughout history.<\/p>\n

She reminded the audience that Islam upholds the dignity, rights, and responsibilities of women \u2014 including the right to education, property ownership, marriage choice, and participation in public affairs. Drawing from both the Qur\u2019an and Hadith, she emphasized that Muslim women have always been pillars of progress, from\u00a0Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (RA)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 the Prophet\u2019s wife and successful businesswoman \u2014 to modern figures such as\u00a0Amina J. Mohammed<\/strong>, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and\u00a0Lateefat Okunnu<\/strong>, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cMuslim women are not defined by limitations but by their faith, resilience, and vision,\u201d Hajiya Nafisat said. \u201cTheir success is not in spite of Islam, but because of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also addressed the challenges facing women today \u2014 from cultural barriers to lack of access to education and representation \u2014 urging increased coalition-building, inclusive scholarship, and advocacy.<\/p>\n

In her remarks,\u00a0Hajiya Muibat Lawal<\/strong>, NASFAT Zonal Women Affairs Secretary, expressed gratitude to the guest speaker and lauded women across the branches for their active participation throughout the week-long event. She noted that impactful lectures took place across the branches, citing the health talk on cancer awareness, organized in\u00a0 Zaria branch to educate and empower the women.<\/p>\n
