The national assembly has promised to appropriate more funds to sports in the 2018 budget.<\/p>\n
The Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Sports, Marafa Kabir made this known at the opening of the Sports Submit and exhibition in Abuja national stadium.<\/p>\n
Sports he said remains a unifying factor where all Nigerians regardless of their geo-political and tribal differences come together as one.\u00a0 The senate would do everything possible to give the needed support to the ministry of sports in order that it can maintain the temple. He assured.<\/p>\n
In his remark, the minister of sports, Solomon Dalung expressed hope that the senate would appropriate more funds in their budgetary allocation to enable the ministry take care of expenses for the upcoming competitions. He explained that the ministry of sports would not relent in providing measures that would improve sporting activities in the country as it sustains peace and unity among Nigerians.<\/p>\n
\u201d As a Ministry, \u00a0we are set to create a level playing ground for private investors and investment to strive for optimal productivity in sports in line with the present administration\u2019s policy to encourage the use of Public Private Partnership to drive the economy of sports as entrenched in the theme of the submit.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 5 day summit, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with Spring Vision International Koncept Limited is focused on sports investment, resource mobilization and infrastructural development. Its mission is to create awareness on fund generation in sports, investment potentials, infrastructure\/facilities provisions, and sports business windows through Public Private Partnership, security for sports men and women as well as developing talents within the country.<\/p>\n
Among the events Nigeria would take part in next year are the Common Wealth Games, FIFA World Cup in Basket Ball World Cup Championship.<\/p>\n
In preparation for next year\u2019s FIFA World Cup, Nigeria Football Federation President, \u00a0Amaju Pinnick said he would ensure that the national senior football team Super Eagles play at least 5 high profile friendly before the world cup games.
