A new leadership era has begun at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Kaduna and District Society, as Alhaji Abdulazeez Olayanju assumed office as the 25th Chairman, promising a tenure anchored on transparency, ethical leadership, and service to members.<\/div>\n

In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in chairman expressed deep gratitude to the immediate past chairman, Alhaji Adagio Ramon Okamfuso-Agola, and his executive committee for laying a solid foundation. He emphasized that his investiture is a “call to service” rather than a reward, acknowledging the strategic importance of the Kaduna district.<\/p>\n

“We will lead with transparency, and we will put members first,” Olayanju declared, outlining his administration’s roadmap anchored on three core pillars: R for re-engaging the membership, E for elevated professional development, and D for deepening advocacy with key stakeholders in Kaduna State.<\/p>\n

In his handover address, the outgoing chairman expressed appreciation for the support received during his 2025-2026 tenure and urged members to extend the same cooperation to the new leadership. He highlighted key engagements and institutional collaborations that strengthened the district’s visibility, while also noting the district’s commitment to the “Catch Them Young” program to nurture the next generation of accountants.<\/p>\n

A chartered accountant of over two decades, Olayanju’s professional journey began in 1989 under the Accounting Technician Scheme, and he qualified as a full ICAN member in May 1999. He is currently the Managing Partner of Abdulaziz Oladide & Co., Chartered Accountants and Forensic Auditors, and has served as the Lead Assessor for the Kaduna State on the ICAN Accountability Index since 2018.<\/p>\n

Beyond his professional pursuits, he is an active community man, having held various leadership roles within NASFAT, including Branch Financial Secretary and Kaduna Zones Financial Secretary. He is happily married to Mrs. Fatima Olayanju and blessed with three children.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Representing the 62nd President of ICAN, Alhaji Tijani Musa delivered a powerful charge to the new chairman and the society, emphasizing that ICAN is a family bound by accuracy and integrity.<\/p>\n

“Our great activity is to address the challenges of ethics for the betterment of the accounting profession and our great country, Nigeria,” Alhaji Musa said, citing corruption as a major national challenge and praising accountants for their role as watchdogs.<\/p>\n

He described Olayanju as “a leader of convertible character and a new generation of professionalism,” praying that Almighty God grants him wisdom and sound health for a successful tenure.<\/p>\n
