Kankia Hails Radda\u2019s Support for Sports, Praises Katsina Emir\u2019s Cultural Stewardship<\/p>\n

The National Legal Adviser (NLA) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia, has commended Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, for his commitment to the development of sports in the state.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Kankia also applauded the Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness, Dr Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, for his efforts to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the Katsina Emirate.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The APC chieftain made the remarks while extending goodwill to participants and stakeholders in the 2026 polo season, wishing players safe and successful competitions.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He said Governor Radda\u2019s sustained support for sports was helping to promote sporting activities and create opportunities for athletes to develop and showcase their talents.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
According to him, investment in sports goes beyond competition, as the sector can contribute significantly to youth development, discipline, unity and positive engagement among young people.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Kankia equally commended the Katsina Emir for sustaining the historical traditions and cultural values of the emirate, describing the preservation of cultural heritage as a collective responsibility to present and future generations.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He noted that the combination of sports development and cultural preservation could strengthen the identity of Katsina State while keeping its rich heritage relevant to younger generations.<\/div>\n

The APC National Legal Adviser particularly urged participants in the 2026 polo competitions to uphold sportsmanship and the spirit of fair play throughout the season.<\/div>\n
He wished all polo players safe matches and a successful 2026 season.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Kankia\u2019s commendation comes amid growing efforts by governments and traditional institutions to leverage sports and cultural activities to promote tourism, preserve heritage and strengthen community engagement.<\/div>\n
He stressed that sustained investment in sports, alongside the preservation of historical and cultural values, would continue to contribute to the development, unity and visibility of Katsina State.<\/div>\n
