The Nigeria Union of Journalists Kaduna has mapped out activitists to celebrate its 2019 press week. <\/strong><\/div>\n
The celebration which is meant to foster unity among members is to kick-start\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
Thursday, 12th December, 2019 with visits to orphanage homes, prisons as well as hospitals within the metropolis.<\/strong><\/div>\n
Friday ,13th December, Council Chairman, Comrade Adamu Yusuf will lead members to perform Friday prayer to seek Allah’s blessings\u00a0 for a\u00a0 successful press week.<\/strong><\/div>\n

This will be followed by a novelty football match in the afternoon at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna.<\/strong><\/div>\n
The female journalists, Nigerian Association Of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) will be engaging the International Federation of Female Lawyers (FIDA) while the male counterpart (NUJ) will battle it out with\u00a0 the Kaduna Health workers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
According to the statement issued and jointly signed by the NUJ Press Week Committe Chairman, Muhammad Sabiu and Secretary, Gambo Santos,\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
“We want\u00a0 to ensure that the event is\u00a0 a memorable one that will further\u00a0 unite our members.”<\/strong><\/div>\n
The statement further explained that,\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n

The lecture will be chaired by\u00a0 General Sani Kukasheka\u00a0 (rtd) , former Director Army Public Affairs, while Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad Elrufai is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour.”\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
The theme of the public lecture is\u00a0 : Media as a catalyst for the promotion of Peace and National Security to be delivered by Mallam Ishaq Kauran Mata, a lecturer with Kaduna Polytechnic.\u00a0 Co -discussants are\u00a0 Dr Ismail Shehu, Director Public Affairs Dept, ABU and National Secretary of NUJ, Shuaibu Lema(Walin Shadalafiya)\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
The National President of NUJ, Mr Chris Isiguzo is expected to be the chief host, while the Council Chairman, Comrade Adamu Yusuf is the host .\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
Meriotious awards will also be given to some governors, deserving members of the society, journalists as well as our past leaders. <\/strong><\/div>\n
As a way of adding colour to the event,\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
In the evening of same day, “there will be\u00a0 a lavish\u00a0 dinner at the press centre where members, families and friends will eat and dine while k<\/strong>day four, Sunday, 15th December, Council Secretary, Comrade Femi Adi will lead members to Sunday service to give thanks to\u00a0 God for a succcessful press week.
