Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State has promised to give the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS)\u00a0 a face-lift as he has through the\u00a0 Ministry of Sports commits to the renovation of the stadium.<\/strong><\/div>\n

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare speaking to newsmen in Abuja had commended Malam Nasir El-Rufai for making a commitment to fix several important areas of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, (ABS), in the State.<\/strong><\/div>\n
He said following their visit and inspection of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium and their meeting with Governor El-Rufai and the technical report sent to him from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, identifying key areas that need quick renovation and upgrade, “the governor has written through its Ministry of Sports, Kaduna conveying to the Ministry that his government would fix the following;\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
The main bowl pitch, the training pitches A and B, the players dressing rooms 1 and 2, the players entrance to the pitch, the main bowl terraces and the cover terrace, the public address system, the TV compound and three number port cabin for the TV port\u201d.<\/strong><\/div>\n
Appreciating this bold step by the governor, Dare thanked him for the partnership and commitment to\u00a0 Youth and Sports Development, saying, the governor has a bug for youth in sport and digital skills development and the facts are there for any one to check.<\/strong><\/div>\n
Significant progress is being made to fix Nigeria\u2019s sports infrastructure around the country. The Minister informed.<\/strong><\/div>\n
While assuring of a better future he said, \u201cAbuja is secured, Kaduna is secured, Lagos is looking good and I think we are making progress and we are happy about it.\u00a0<\/strong>We are gaining ground.\u00a0Mr. Dare expressed satisfaction.<\/strong><\/div>\n
The initiative which has \u201cAdopt-an-Athlete\u201d, \u201cAdopt-a-pitch\u201d and \u201cAdopt a Sports Center\u201d as the core of an earlier campaign is seen to be gathering momentum with private individuals and government officials signing up to be part of the initiative.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
This will help develop the sports sector and invariably, the youth in Nigeria.<\/strong><\/div>\n
