Kaduna State Government Assures Citizens Commitments To\u00a0 Provide World Minimum Health Package<\/strong><\/div>\n

The Kaduna state government has assured its commitments to\u00a0 provide World\u00a0 Minimum Health Package for its citizens.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
This was disclosed by the\u00a0\u00a0Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe\u00a0\u00a0at a learning event organized by the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health programme in Northern Nigeria (MNCH2), with the theme, \u2018Strengthening the Foundation of Sustainable Primary Health Care: The One Functional PHC Per Ward Approach in Kaduna state\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
The state government she said is in the process of delivering on the world minimum health package through established Primary Health Care (PHC) facility in every ward in the state.<\/strong><\/div>\n
She further assured of government’s commitments\u00a0 to providing equal access to PHC , services to all residents by revamping, recruiting and introducing contributory health insurance scheme.<\/strong><\/div>\n
Represented by the State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Amina Baloni, the deputy governor said, \u201cOur commitment to achieve the universal health coverage shows the government’s commitment in equity of access to health care to the most vulnerable regardless of their socio economic or political affiliation.<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u201cThe Kaduna State government has amended the law establishing PHC development agencies putting them under one roof.\u00a0 An upgraded and renovated 255 PHC facilities, one in each ward, serves to establish the implementation of the world health system.<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u201cAlso, a law establishing the state health insurance scheme is in place to see health care is accessible to all.\u201d<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0She noted that in ensuring functional PHC across all LGA in the state, the governor has approved the recruitment of 3050 health workers that will be posted in all PHC facilities to bolster human resources needed in the facilities.<\/strong><\/div>\n
The team lead of MNCH2, Kaduna chapter, Dr. Kailani Ahmadu said that despite numerous campaigns, home delivery during childbirth still persist in Northern Nigeria stressing that such practices can lead to death if adequate care is not given to pregnant mothers.<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0She added that the organization is making all effort to ensure primary health is easily accessible to pregnant mothers stating that collaboration is ongoing with tricycle riders and members of Nation Union of Road Transport Worker (NURTW) in transporting pregnant mothers to hospital when in labour.<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u201cThe first 24 hours of a woman who gives birth at home is very critical. When she loses lots of blood without appropriate care it can lead to death,\u201d she stressed.<\/strong><\/div>\n
