Officials of the Nigeria Railway Cooperation (NRC) were during the week at the EFCC Kaduna Zonal Office on a fact finding mission on the issue of ticket racketing at Rigasa Train Station.<\/strong><\/div>\n
The team which was led by James G. Zang, <\/strong><\/div>\n
\"\"<\/div>\n
said they were in the Zonal office to find out efforts so far made by the Commission on ticket racketeering.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Acting Head, Media & Publicity, Tony Orilade, Wednesday,\u00a022nd of January\u00a0and made available to newsmen in Kaduna.<\/strong><\/div>\n
Zang who commended the EFCC for helping in bringing sanity in the process of selling tickets to the general public while discouraging racketeers in the train stations from such acts stated that those perpetrating the crimes are not Nigeria Railway Staff and that the NRC is working vigorously towards making the e-ticketing platform a reality within the shortest possible time.<\/strong><\/div>\n
This he assured\u00a0 will completely eradicate rackeetering of tickets.<\/strong><\/div>\n
Mailafia Yakubu, Head Kaduna Zonal Office of the Commission responding on behalf of the Acting Executive Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, expressed happiness on the visit while promising that the Commission will do everything within it’s power to address the issue of ticket racketeering in train stations.<\/strong><\/div>\n
He recalled that sometime in 2019, the Kaduna Zonal Office clamped down on Rigasa Train Station and arrested some touts who engage in tickets racketeering.<\/strong><\/div>\n
