Malam Muhammadu Sanusi immediate Past Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria who on Monday, March 9th, 2020 was removed as the Emir of Kano State by the Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led government has finally broken the silence.<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Sanusi who has been banished to Nassarawa State following his dethronement has said that every king and leader should know that the throne of an emir is not a permanent one. For if it were, he wouldn’t have been there.<\/strong><\/div>\n
“If\u00a0it were a permanent throne, I wouldn\u2019t have been the emir of Kano.\u201d<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cBefore I came, someone was the emir and before him someone else was there, therefore, it\u2019s nothing that would shock anybody.\u201d<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cWhenever God says your time on the throne is over, if you don\u2019t leave with your legs, people will carry your body out of the palace.\u201d<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cThe most important thing to a leader is a sound and peaceful end. Therefore I thank God that brings to me a peaceful end without any rancour or chaos\u201d.<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cWe thank the prophets, Imams, those who have been behind us all this years. We call on the entire Umah to remain in peace.\u201d<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cAny person who succeeds me should be accepted by the people of Kano so he can end well.\u201d<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cGod does not make a mistake, whatever he gives is the best, and today don\u2019t be disturbed, whatever thing that God started, it is the end we hope for and may God help this to end well.\u201d<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cWe thank the entire Muslims who have been supporting us year by year, the entire people of Kano and may God help them to continue to live in peace. May God give us a good leader and give our land back to us.\u201d<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cWe leave you people with sweetheart and thanks.\u201d He ended.<\/strong><\/div>\n
However, Sanusi\u2019s lawyer said on Monday evening that the removal was not surprising though most embarrassing saying that Sanusi was not given any fair hearing just as due process was not observed in the matter.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
He said Sanusi has been in\u00a0various legal tussles with the state government over the last two to three years and therefore what transpired wasn’t a surprise to them.<\/strong><\/div>\n
“He has been in various legal tussles with the state government over the last two to three years. So, this did not come to us as a surprise. We were so much embarrassed at the manner in which it was done”.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
Mahmoud, who spoke on Channels Television said though Sanusi was yet to make a decision whether to challenge his removal in court or not but had he decided to seek redress, the decision of the Kano State government would be reversed.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
