President, Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Comrade Chris Isiguzo has said that the committee set up to look into lingering crisis in the leadership of the Sports Writers Association has submitted their report and the National Executive Council (NEC) will take a drastic decision in the next ten days,\u00a0BSNSports.com.ng<\/a>\u00a0can report.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Isiguzo speaking with\u00a0http:\/\/www.bsnsports.com.ng<\/a>\u00a0at the Area 3 Sports Complex after the friendly match between FCT champions, WACO FA and Goddosky International Football Club insisted that SWAN has no leadership because they (NUJ) do not recognize both elections in Abuja and Port Harcourt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In his words: \u201cWe are here to be part of the friendly match between the Abuja champions and Anambra champions. It is an interesting match and experience for me making out time to come here despite rampaging coronavirus.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe national leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists has already put committee in place and information available to me shows that committee is done with their job and any moment from now they will submit their report.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking further he added that: \u201cBut in the interim, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has no leadership in the country today. We don\u2019t recognize Port Harcourt jamboree and we also don\u2019t recognise the Abuja outing. We are waiting for the report of the committee in the ten days when we are going to have a meeting with National Executive Council (NEC) then, the final decision will be taken.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

He expressed dissatisfaction about the situation and promised that the Union will resolve the leadership crisis soon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not happy that the association has been left without leadership but in the next days we would have effectively resolved the issue of those who claimed to have disassociated.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He laughed off the insinuation of some set of people saying they have disassociated themselves from NUJ<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cSWAN pulling out of NUJ is a figment of imagination for people who are peddling such insinuation. Before you become a SWAN member, you must be a member of the NUJ .<\/strong>
\nNUJ has it own rule of engagement before becoming a member, so, there is nothing like removing yourself. It is like saying a baby will be delivered without going through his mother, whether through CS or normal delivery, he must come to the world through the mother.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The president also threw more light on the CAC registration.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe CAC registration is for administrative purposes which does not affect their allegiance with the mother union. NUJ is going to look into that and take device decision.\u201d He concluded.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
