COVID -19: KDSG Lifts Ban On Daily Prayers In Mosques And Churches<\/p>\n

Kaduna state Government has formally announced the lift on the ban earlier imposed on conduct of daily prayers in mosques and churches services across the state due to Covid-19 pandemic.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The condition is that, worshipers must comply with\u00a0 health protocols.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

A statement from Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, which was signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Mr Muyiwa Adekeye,\u00a0 \u00a0noted that\u00a0 the decision was taken on the recommendation of the State Covid-19 Task Force.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0Adekeye said that the health protocols are\u00a0 captured in\u00a0 \u00a0the FORWARD campaign, which \u2018\u2019includes wearing Facemasks, Observing physical distancing, practising Respiratory hygiene, Washing hands regularly, Avoiding large gatherings, Remaining indoors as much as possible and eating immune-boosting Diets.\u2019\u2019<\/div>\n

The statement recalled that\u00a0 government had\u00a0 \u2018\u2019imposed restrictions on all forms of congregational worship on 26th March 2020, as part of the state government\u2019s Covid-19 containment strategy.\u00a0 These restrictions have been gradually relaxed, starting with Sunday services in churches and Jumaat prayers.\u2019<\/div>\n

Adekeye pointed out that \u2018\u2019as more offices, businesses, markets and places of worship open, the government appeals to citizens to maintain utmost vigilance because Covid-19 has not closed.<\/div>\n

\u2018\u2019As people pursue their livelihoods, they should practise the personal responsibility obligations outlined in the FORWARD campaign to protect themselves and their families,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
The Special Adviser warned\u00a0 that \u2018\u2019places of worship that persistently fail to comply with the guidelines may be closed, to protect the worshippers and the public.\u2019\u2019<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
The statement further said that\u00a0 Bureau of Interfaith Matters will continue to engage leaders of faith on compliance with the guidelines for safe resumption of daily prayers and services.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
