Fani-Kayode Regrets Outrage On Daily Trust Reporter…Apologizes For\u00a0 His Outburst<\/p>\n

Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has tendered apology for what transpired during a press conference in Calabar Cross River State where he refered to a Daily Trust newspaper reporter Eyo Charles, as \u201cstupid.\u201d<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
In a statement issued on Wednesday. He has according to him made some consultations and therefore wishes to apologize.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cI met with my advisors till late last night and I wish to say the following. I hereby withdraw the word \u2018stupid\u2019 which I used in my encounter with a journalist in Calabar. I have many friends in the media who I offended by losing my cool and using such words. I hereby express my regrets for doing so.\u201d<\/div>\n

As for whether Fani-Kayode threathened to harm the Daily Trust reporter, the statement reads:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cI do, however, wish to state categorically that no threat of physical harm was ever made to the journalist in question and neither did I send anyone to threaten him. Anyone that says otherwise is lying and I challenge them to bring the proof.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cI would never seek to physically harm a journalist. For the last 30 years I have defended and worked with journalists and fought for the right of freedom of expression.\u201d He remains the friend of the media. He said.<\/div>\n

The Daily Trust reporter in a video that has gone viral on social media is seen dumb founded while receiving barrels of insults from Fani-Kayode who termed his question as “stupid”and that angered him.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
The Daily Trust reporter’s question which was said have provoked him was, ”who bankrolled his recent tour of several southern states?”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The former minister in his outburst was said to have altered the following.<\/div>\n

\u00a0\u201cI am saying this on live TV. What type of stupid question is that? Bankrolling who? Do you know who you are talking to? I will not take any questions from this man. What type of insulting question is that? Which bankroll? To do what? Who can give me money for anything? Who do you think you are talking to? Go and report yourself to your publisher? Please don\u2019t insult me here. I don\u2019t want to take any questions from this man.<\/div>\n

\u201cI could see from your face before you got here, how stupid you are. Don\u2019t ever talk to me like that. Who do you think you\u2019re talking to? Bankroll who? You think I am one of those ones you\u2026 from who, when, how? You have a small mind, very small mind. Don\u2019t judge me by your own standards.\u201d<\/div>\n
