Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in his congratulatory message on Saturday to\u00a0\u00a0Democrat Joe Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris over their \u2018victory\u2019 in the US election has described their victory as “victory of good over evil”.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Obasanjo stated this in a congratulatory letter which was made available to the media by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

He wrote, \u201cIt is victory of good over evil and it is not victory for you and the people of America alone, but victory for most people of the world, majority of whom watch helplessly as the world that had been steadily and painstakingly built since the end of the Second World War was being pulled down.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

\u201cNot that the world was perfect and equitable but it was reasonably predictable with some measure of rule of law and respect for international agreements and treaties.<\/div>\n

He tasked the president elect to restore confidence in the role of America as the largest economy in the world.<\/div>\n

The media, which included major international and US-based TV networks, on Saturday, projected that Biden won the US presidency over Donald Trump, a victory sealed after the Democrat claimed several key battleground states won by the Republican incumbent in 2016.<\/div>\n

Biden, 77, is the oldest candidate ever elected to the White House.<\/div>\n
Biden spent eight years as vice president to Barack Obama. His victory comes in his third run for the nation\u2019s highest office.<\/div>\n

Trump, 74, however has made as yet unsubstantiated claims of massive voter fraud. He has denounced the projection, rejecting Biden\u2019s victory and his campaign has launched legal challenges in several states.<\/div>\n
