According to the group, members of the press are one of the frontline workers as such are exposed to the risk of being\u00a0 \u00a0infected in the course of carrying out their jobs.<\/div>\n

In their separate lectures, Director Womanhood, School of Health Sciences, Kaduna, Nurudeen Bello, ABU\u00a0\u00a0Lecturer, College of Medicine Zaria, Dr. Yusuf Nadabo Abdullahi and\u00a0 an Environmentalist, from School of Health Science\u00a0 Dr. Adi Abdullahi all spoke on some areas of cautions which they said if well adhered to will be of great help.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“You have to protect yourself using the basic rules and tips of COVID -19.<\/div>\n

There are some\u00a0 precautionary measures to be taken when one feels unwell. Importantly, it is advisable that one<\/div>\n

Knows the full range of symptoms of COVID-19.<\/div>\n

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, dry cough, and tiredness. Other symptoms that are less common and may affect some patients include loss of taste or smell, aches and pains, headache, sore throat, nasal congestion, red eyes, diarrhoea, or a skin rash.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
There is the need to regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. This eliminates germs including viruses that may be on your hands.<\/div>\n

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.<\/div>\n
Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and infect you.<\/div>\n

Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately into a closed bin and wash your hands.<\/div>\n

By following good \u2018respiratory hygiene\u2019, you protect the people around you from viruses, which cause colds, flu and COVID-19.<\/div>\n
Clean and disinfect surfaces frequently especially those which are regularly touched, such as door handles, faucets and phone screens.<\/div>\n
