    Borno state Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum on Thursday in Abuja, visited newly deployed Head of European Union\u2019s Cooperation unit in Nigeria, Mrs Cecile Tassin-Pelzer.<\/div>\n

    <\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    Zulum, during his visit to the EU house, made a strong appeal for involvement of local contractors in implementation of intervention projects in Borno.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    The Governor made a case for additional developmental projects in the state, even as he commended the EU for their tremendous support.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n

    <\/div>\n
    Zulum also raised concerns on accountability in execution of various developmental projects by partners and INGOs.<\/div>\n

    The governor congratulated and welcomed the new EU head to Nigeria, pledging full cooperation.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    “Since I was a commissioner, l have been having good working relationship with the EU. I am fundamentally here to congratulate you and welcome you to Nigeria” Zulum said.<\/div>\n

    <\/div>\n
    Zulum commended the immediate past head of Cooperation, Mr. Kurt Cornelis for his outstanding working relationship.<\/div>\n

    <\/div>\n
    Governor Zulum was accompanied by his Special Adviser and coordinator on SDGs, Dr. Mairo Mandara.<\/div>\n

    Responding, Mrs Tassin-Pelzer assured of a good working relationship with the government of Borno state.<\/div>\n

    She also assured the Governor, that Nigeria is still considered as priority country for humanitarian and development programs.<\/div>\n
