The World Health Organisation (WHO) has assured Nigerians on the safety of<\/div>\n
Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.<\/div>\n

This assurance was given by a team of WHO\u00a0Dr. Sambo Godwin Maku, Dr. Hananiya Dauda and Dr. Umeh Gregory<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
who were in Kaduna during the week.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The myths attached to vaccine is untrue, it said.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Dr. Sambo Godwin Ishaku made this clear while addressing health correspondents in Kaduna.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
According to him,\u00a026,000 people have already received their first dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines in Kaduna as at 23rd March 2021.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

In his presentation titled,\u00a0\u201dMyths and Facts\u201d, Sambo\u00a0called on the people to disregard the speculations regarding the vaccine saying,\u00a0180,000 vaccines were received in Kaduna, and that so far,\u00a0 no death has been recorded.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
While agreeing that every drug has side effect, which may be as a result of some being administered wrongly,\u00a0COVID -19 vaccine has no side effect. He stated.<\/div>\n

What is happening now is not new he added for it has always been the case whenever something new is introduced. So, the\u00a0anti- vaccination group to the newly developed COVID – 19 drug is not a surprise.<\/div>\n

\u201cThe Vaccine does not change DNA or have any effect on pregnant women. All speculations about the Vaccine are false\u201d.<\/div>\n

The side effect of the COVID-19 vaccine is minimal\u00a0advising that whoever takes it and notices allergy should report to the nearest doctor .<\/div>\n

Dr Sambo explained that\u00a0the\u00a0Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine through the COVAX facility, led by the World Health Organisation was first\u00a0 administered on\u00a0healthcare workers\u00a0across the country and has also taken his.<\/div>\n

” I want to assure us and the public that these vaccines are safe. I have taken mine ”.<\/div>\n

There is no cause for alarm. People should not be afraid and that technology has made it possible\u00a0 for COVID -19 drug to be developed within one year. He said.<\/div>\n
