In the Zonal meeting of Zone A, held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna press center, 10th April, 2021, concerns were raised over the issue of insecurity in the country which it considers paramount to the corporate existence of the people.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In its resolution, jointly signed by the Vice President Zone A Comrade Yusuf Idris and Zonal Secretary, Izma Yamadi Abdullahi respectively,\u00a0the meeting has called on both the federal and state government to do more in this direction for the betterment of the nation.<\/div>\n

RESOLUTIONS<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
That both the Kaduna state and Federal governments should do more in rescuing the students of Federal College of Forestry and Mechanisation that were kidnapped and have been in captivity for over 3 weeks now.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The meeting aligns itself with the Nigeria Labour Congress in kicking against the sack of thousands of workers in Kaduna state civil service.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The union, while commending security agencies for their efforts in tackling kidnappings, banditry and Cattle rustling in Kaduna state, urged them to deploy additional strategies and personnel along Kaduna-Kachia road where kidnappings is on the rise.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The meeting commended Kano, Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Jigawa States’ governments for the existing good working relationship with media outfits and media practitioners and called for sustenance of the good relationship.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
The meeting advised councils in the Zone to, as much as possible, avoid playing into the hands of politicians, who may use them to achieve their selfish agenda, which in the long run, leads to causing disaffection among members of the Union.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The meeting also advised state councils within the zone to look inwards and develop strategies towards developing their revenue base which may ultimately make them to be self dependent.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
The meeting commended the Zonal office and Kaduna state council of the NUJ for the initiative to organise Roundtable and for successfully hosting the Zonal meeting.<\/div>\n

The meeting which was declared opened\u00a0by the National President Chris Isiguzo, charged leaders of the zone to continue to chart a new course for the union at all levels.<\/div>\n

In attendance were, the National Secretary of the Union, Shuaibu Usman Leman and the Vice President of Zone E, Alhassan Abdullahi Yahaya.<\/div>\n
