A Non Governmental Organization, AMANA Hope And Care initiative (AHCI) in continuation of its efforts to touch the lives of pregnant women on Thursday visited Angwan Rimi Public Health facility.<\/div>\n
The Founder\/Chief Executive Officer\u00a0 AMANA Hope And Care Initiative, Hajiya Farida Abubakar while fielding questions from newsmen said the organization is focused on addressing the plights of vulnerable\u00a0 women.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“Our target right now is on marternal and child health. We are looking at how to encourage women especially those at the grassroot to access antenatal care.<\/div>\n
\"\"<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n
“Research has shown that a lot of women die out of ignorance during pregnancy not because they don’t want to access health care services but because they don’t know how to go about it.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“Also, they don’t know the health facilities that are closer to them. So what the organization is trying to do is to encourage the women\u00a0 and make them know the danger signs during pregnancy as well as make them understand the need to access antenatal care.<\/div>\n
We know that when it is time for one to die,\u00a0 you cannot\u00a0 stop it.”<\/div>\n

The organization she said has visited facilities within the local governments\u00a0 and all things being equal hopes to visit health centers in the 23 LGAs of the state. She added.<\/div>\n

“We visited health centers in Igabi local government, visited health centers in Kaduna south and now we are in Kaduna\u00a0 north.<\/div>\n
If possible, we intend to visit the 23 local<\/div>\n
governments in the state.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Face masks were distributed to all the women as a mark\u00a0 of encouragement in keeping to COVID – 19 guidelines.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Representative from World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Winnie together with an official of the Ministry of health Kaduna, Hero Emmanuel were there to educate the women on precautionary measures on COVID -19 pandemic.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Demonstrating the correct way of hand washing, Dr. Winnie stressed on the need to always keep their hands clean at all times for it is not just for the prevention of COVID – 19 but also helps to prevent cholera and other infectious diseases .<\/div>\n

They urged the women to always maintain personal hygiene as well as observe all the rules and regulations guiding COVID-19.<\/div>\n

Sister Hauwa Hassan in her lecture\u00a0 encouraged the women to always visit health facilities as that will help in keeping them and their babies in good shape. She charged the women to avoid giving birth\u00a0 at home as that is not only risky to the health of the mother but also that of the child. As from four months of pregnancy, women should\u00a0 visit health facilities for antenatal. She advised.<\/div>\n

Sarkin Angwan Rimi Sabon Gida Low-cost,\u00a0 Alhaji Shehu Mohammed\u00a0 Mai Katifa, speaking on behalf of Hakim Gabasawa, Alhaji Shittu Ibrahim Diko,\u00a0 commended the organization for the bold stride while praying that God reward them for their gesture.<\/div>\n
The Sarki in his words of advise\u00a0 charged the women\u00a0 to always\u00a0 instil discipline in their\u00a0 children as that will help in reducing all manners of vices in the society.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
