Radio Nigeria reports that in the early hours of today, armed bandits abducted unknown number of students of Bethel Baptist School Maraban Rido, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.<\/div>\n

In a report filed by Adamu Yusuf,<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
a resident, who did not want his name mentioned, confirmed the incident said the bandits invaded the school at about 2 am shooting sporadically into the air before kidnapping the students.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cMany students were kidnapped but four escaped and ran back to the school\u201d. He said.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cTwo soldiers were allegedly shot but I cannot confirm if they\u2019re alive or not\u201d.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cIt is difficult to say the number of students that were abducted,\u201d the source said.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Meanwhile parents, guardians of kidnapped students had stormed the school premises in search of their loved ones.<\/div>\n

Daily updates correspondent\u00a0reports that most of the parents expressed anxiety, anger and despair while enquiring about the whereabouts of their wards .<\/div>\n

Some of the parents, especially the women were openlg weeping as they call out the names of the sons or daughters.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Security was heavily visible as a combined team of the Nigeria Army and Police were stationed at the school premises .<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
However, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Honourable Samuel Aruwan was sighted at the premises, commiserating with affected parents.<\/div>\n

Residents of the areas surrounding the school said that they could not sleep last night as the bandits came shooting into the air for over 4 hours while carting away the students .<\/div>\n

A source who didn\u2019t want her name mentioned, said that it was like a scene out of a horror movie. It added.<\/div>\n

Earlier, in another development, Katsit community in Zango Kataf local government area of Kaduna State on Sunday night came under heavy attack.<\/div>\n

It was gathered that the bandits stormed the community on motorbikes at around 7pm opened fire on everything on sight.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

An eye-witness, who narrowly escaped the attack, said the gunmen came through the popular pig market and started shooting sporadically.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

According to the source, who craved anonymity, he said as at time of filing the report that the number of casualties were yet to be ascertained.<\/div>\n
