dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Kaduna State High Court today Wednesday, July, 28th, 2021 discharged and acquitted the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, who was accused of culpable homicide, disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly in a charge brought against him and his wife by the Kaduna State government.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Justice Gideon Urada upheld the no-case submission filed by Zakzaky\u2019s counsel, Femi Falana, on the ground that the witnesses presented by the prosecution counsel had been unable to establish any connection between the charges and El-Zakzaky.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Counsel to the proscribed leader of the IMN, Marshal Abubakar fielding questions from journalists shortly after the court proceedings expressed satisfaction that the court ruled that the charge is incompetent.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The court he said has\u00a0upheld their case submission.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Explaining, he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;The court found and quite rightly that the charges that were filed in the year 2018 pursuance to a panel law enacted by the Kaduna state government in 2017 over offences that were allegedly committed in the year 2015 are ab initio incompetent.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Court Acquits Shiites
