The death of\u00a0SWAN President, Comrade Ahmed Aigbona has been described as a shock and great loss to the union.<\/div>\n

A statement released by Swan Reconciliation Committee and those who knew him has described him as a versatile and committed member.<\/div>\n

“On behalf of the National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chief Chris Isiguzo and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Reconciliation Committee, we mourn the demise of the SWAN President, Comrade Ahmed Aigbona who passed on today.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We received the news of the death of the erudite journalist with shock.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It is sad that Aigbona died when his services are mostly needed by both NUJ and SWAN, especially when the National Executive Council of the NUJ has set machinery in motion to unite members of the SWAN family.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We grief over the death of this versatile unionist,<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We pray that God will comfort families, friends, SWAN and NUJ members of Edo Council and associates of Aigbona.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
May his soul rest in the bossom of the Lord.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Aigbona was elected President of SWAN at an election held on October 7, 2019 in Abuja.<\/div>\n
