Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum was last night presented with nomination letter for emerging Leadership Newspapers \u201cPerson of the Year, 2020\u201d, which is the newspaper\u2019s highest category of award.<\/div>\n

The Vice Chairman of LEADERSHIP Media Group, Mike Okpere, led a delegation of top management and editorial staff to present the nomination to Zulum at the Borno Governor\u2019s lodge in Abuja on Monday.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Presenting the nomination, Okpere said the board of editors of LEADERSHIP Media Group had a meeting in November, 2020, a month before the passing away of the founding chairman, who also chaired the meeting, where the decision to confer the Zulum with the award was taken.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He described Zulum as a unique and courageous leader who has made a huge impact within a short time. He noted that Zulum has become a national and global reference because of how he has been steering the affairs of Borno State despite ichallenges. He also said the management of the media organisation appreciates the governor for his efforts in ensuring peace in the state.<\/div>\n

He said the award will be presented on September 9 in Abuja.<\/div>\n

Accepting the nomination, Zulum expressed appreciation for the award of bestowed on him by LEADERSHIP Media Group.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
The governor commended the management of the company for sustaining the LEADERSHIP newspaper brand.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Zulum also sympathized with the company on the demise of the founding chairman, Sam Nda-Isaiah, last December, saying that he and his family cherish\u00a0 his nomination as the \u2018\u20182020 LEADERSHIP person of the Year.\u2019\u2019<\/div>\n

He said, \u2018\u2018Let me appreciate you for counting me worthy among millions of Nigerians to be conferred with this award. LEADERSHIP is our paper. My predecessor was very close to your late chairman, I will take it up from where he stopped. This is just the beginning of a great relationship.\u2019\u2019<\/div>\n
