DAHARATU MISMAS Foundation in collaboration with VISION HEAL NIGERIA yesterday marked the 2021 International Peace Day.<\/div>\n

The event which took place at Kwaru, Kaduna had large turnout of members of the community to grace the event.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Speaking at the Village Head’s palace, the Founder, MISMAS Foundation, Hajiya Daharatu Ahmed Aliyu, commended the Sarkin Kwaru,( Village Head of Kwaru), Alhaji Ashiru Muhammad Wada for his\u00a0 leadership style which she said has helped in sustaining the peace being enjoyed in the community.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
While fielding questions from journalists on the reason for choosing Kwaru community for the celebration, she said\u00a0<\/span>Kwaru community is a symbol of Unity.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
According to her,<\/span><\/div>\n
“We are here to to commemorate 2021 International Peace Day which is being celebrated every 21st of September, globally to promote peaceful co-existence and ensure that people live together in peace to promote development in all ramifications.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
\"\"<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“We are using Kwaru, a domain where both Muslims and Christians live together happily and peacefully as a study.<\/span><\/div>\n
We are projecting it to the outside world that living as a Muslim in one place is not good neither is living as Christians in one area good.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“What we are doing today is promoting the culture of living together, be it Muslims, Christians and whatever faith. To live together, adhere the culture of peace so that we can continue to have development in all areas.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“We are in a situation now that we as mothers, we need to call for this peace. Enough is enough, let us join hands together to stop all these vices happening today. The government l must say is trying it’s best. They cannot do it alone. We need to join hands together.<\/span><\/div>\n
I call on all Non Governmental Organizations, stakeholders to come together and join hands with the government to fight this issue of insecurity.<\/span><\/div>\n

“We are begging the perpetrators of these acts as mothers, we are begging them whoever is in this to please in the name of God help us.\u00a0 Let them temper justice with mercy so that we can have peace in the nation.<\/span><\/div>\n

Contributing, the Founder, VISION HEAL NIGERIA, High Chief Amb. Christopher Geoman lamenting over the state of insecurity said Kaduna state used to be a place for all irrespective of what tribe or religion you belong to. He prayed for a return of what they used to enjoy in those days.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“The truth is, there is no greater meal that is nutritious than peace. We cannot over-flog the issue of peace and Kwaru happens to be a case study.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
When people talk of Kaduna state, how it used to be for those of us that were born here, is exemplified by how the people of Kwaru now live. Where you have Christians, Muslims living side by side, believing that they are children of Adam and Eve and can do things together.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“A place where a criminal is treated as a criminal not because of religion or tribe but because the person has done something wrong. A place where somebody is praised not because of his tribe or religion but because of what he has done.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“So, we are here to use this place as a model to those that live for example, in Rigasa, Sabon Tasha, Television and other places in Kaduna where you have concentration of one particular ethnic group or tribe to tell them that it’s time we went back to how we used to live in Kaduna. I must say l<\/span>\u00a0really feel sad about this development because growing up, l grew up with hausas.”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Doing things together, trusted one another and all these now fading out which is very disturbing.\u00a0 He stressed.<\/span><\/div>\n

Responding, the Sarkin Kwaru, (Village Head of Kwaru) Alhaji Ashiru Muhammad Wada, expressing delight for choosing his community for the celebration thanked both founders of MISMAS And VISION HEAL NIGERIA for their efforts in the quest for sustainable peace.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Kwaru community he said has always tried to ensure peaceful co-existence of it’s community members irrespective of their tribal or religious differences.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
One’s\u00a0religious and tribal affiliation should not be a reason for our division. He stressed.<\/div>\n
As for the magic implored in achieving peace in his domain, he has this to say.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“Dialogue is very important in anything you do.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
We do not take decisions on our own. When there is any conflict or crisis, we come together, both Muslims and Christians and discuss together. We dialogue and find a way forward. My advise to other traditional leaders is that they should always engage in dialogue for that is the best way to resolve dispute.”<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
While commending the state government’s efforts in terms of security challenges, the Sarki stressed on the need for government to strengthen the security outfit by engaging civilian joint task force.<\/span><\/div>\n
Alhaji Wada urged people to live in peace and harmony as that is the only way to regain the trust for one another. He thanked the group for deeming it fit to mark the International<\/span>\u00a0Peace Day in his community while\u00a0praying for their success and encouraged other NGO’s to emulate their stride.<\/div>\n

The Sarki Angwan Dosa,(Village Head Angwan Dosa), Alhaji Idris Mohammed who was there to support and witness the celebration commended the group for their efforts. He urged them not to relent in their call for peace. Peace is a vital instrument to achieving unity. He said.<\/div>\n

In their separate remarks, the Imam of Kwaru, Imam Muh’d\u00a0 Nuruddeen Muh’d\u00a0 and Pst. Nathan Bala Naigizo of Baptist Church Angwan Yero, both stressed on the need for peaceful co-existence amongst the people saying,\u00a0 both religion, Islam, and Christianity preach peace. Both scriptures preach love for one another and should not allow ethnicity and religious differences to come their way. Politicians should not be allowed to caused disunity amongst the citizens. God in both scriptures has emphasized the need for peace.<\/div>\n

According to them because of the understanding and cordial relationship that exists between the leadership of the<\/div>\n
\u00a0church and the mosque, they are able to render assistance to their members in times of needs.<\/div>\n
