With over one hundred road contracts on-going across Kaduna state under the infrastructural renewal projects of Governor El-Rufai\u2019s administration, it is believed that if completed, Kaduna state would not only wear a new look but that the earlier problem of infrastructural deficits would have been addressed.<\/p>\n
The Media tour embarked upon Tuesday, April 17, 2018, which was led by the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State Council together with the permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Housing, Murtala Dabo \u00a0and his team was according to the Perm.\u00a0 Sec. meant to open up to the media some of what Governor El-Rufai\u2019s administration have been doing in the area of bridging the infrastructural gap in the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Permanent Secretary explained that resources had been their challenge and that Governor El-Rufai is ever ready and willing to work.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese are projects within Kaduna metropolis covering Kaduna North, Kaduna South part of Chukwun and part of Igabi Local Government within Zone 2, the central Zone of the state.<\/p>\n
In Barnawa, the Kaduna state government has spent over N2billion on road infrastructure. Of the 23.8km of the whole 78 roads, 69 roads are completed. The remaining 9 roads are over 50% completed.<\/p>\n
The focus is, bridging the infrastructural gap. That is what we are doing. As part of our urban renewal projects, the Kaduna state government is building 11.6km township roads with drainages across 12 streets in Ungwar Sanusi\u00a0 and to be \u00a0completed by June, 2018.<\/p>\n
\u201cRock Bridge is handling the Tudun Wada 20km township roads here and another 36km in Kajuru Local Government area. These are about 75 to 80% completion.<\/p>\n
We have about 57 streets in Tudun Wada.\u00a0 Our target is by May 29th<\/sup> most of these projects that are between 75, 80% completion would be completed within now and our third year anniversary.<\/p>\n Dabo also took journalists to the 375m road with culvert that linked the biggest abattoir in Kaduna.<\/p>\n \u201cThe 375 meters bridge constructed by Governor El-Rufai at abattoir road, Zango had an overwhelming reaction from the butchers whose pre occupations mainly are within the abattoir. They had expressed delight over the gesture.<\/p>\n Speaking, the Sarkin Pawa (Head of the Butchers) in an interview said the construction of the bridge would ease their movement and that of their teaming customers.<\/p>\n The Sarkin Pawa (Head of the Butchers ) in an interview said,<\/p>\n The contractor handling the project is Mrs embryo Nigeria Limited.<\/p>\n \u201cThe road network is 70% completed and it will be delivered by June, 2018. The road used to be flooded by River Kaduna during heavy rain fall but with these roads and drainages structures here, would drain up the water into river Kaduna which is right there before me. So not only has this road been constructed to provide assess ability of roads, the project also aimed at addressing the flood issues around this area\u201d.<\/p>\n One of the residents Abdulhameed gave an account of his experience during flood and what it is now.<\/p>\n \u201cThe flood always come with full force and could even carry one away. As a result of blockages due to dirt, our buildings were always covered with flood during raining seasons. We really thank Governor El-Rufai for finding solution to our problem. Now, one can move freely during raining season. No more panic.<\/p>\n \u201cThe dualisation project at College road leading to Legislative Quarters, Ungwar Dosa, has a ring road that linked Kudan road and Sabon Birni.<\/p>\n \u201cThe College road is 3.6km to be completed by May 29 at N1.2 billion.<\/p>\n .including compensation for houses that were claimed by the road. The Kudan and Sabon Birni road is 2.6km to link the Kawo overhead bridge to be completed in 3 to 4 months at N1.05 billion. This includes compensations.<\/p>\n While addressing journalists, Doka said, \u201cThis was the most congested street in Kaduna city. This explains why it is being dualized.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Kaduna state government is also constructing a surface dressed 8km Hanyin Na Iya Malalin Gabas road in Igabi local government area at N320 million for completion by May.<\/p>\n The Trailer Park under construction at Mararaban Jos is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement with R and M, the Perm. Sec. disclosed. The indiscriminate ways trailers park on the way is what necessitated the construction of the park. Similar experience is faced at Tafa, along Abuja road. He added.<\/p>\n The park which covers 71,000 square meters is at the cost of N2.7 billion, with Kaduna state government paying 50% of the cost. Other facilities at the trailers park will include hotel, conveniences, restaurants and filling station. We want to finish the parking area in the next 3,4 months to evacuate the trailers from the sides of the road<\/p>\n A visit to the Kaduna State Media Cooperation (KSMC) had revealed another side of Governor El-Rufai\u2019s giant stride as media personnel were greeted with a gigantic\u00a0 on-going project which according to Murtala Dabo when completed would be the pride of not only Kaduna state but the nation at large.<\/p>\n Speaking, the Managing Director of the cooperation, Ibrahim Ismaila Ahmed\u00a0 said the multi billion Naira building of Governor El-rufai\u00a0 is not in existence anywhere in Nigeria and that when completed, \u201cYou should expect a \u00a0world class KSMC\u201d<\/p>\n The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Chairman, Comrade Adamu Yusuf had commended the initiative behind the media tour which he described as worthwhile.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have gone, we have seen it and we believe that Kaduna state government is really working towards development of the state. Particularly in the areas of road projects, hospitals and schools\u201d. \n Another road project visited was that of Angwan Rimi where 30 roads are under construction with about 8.3km township roads network. The total cost of project is about N801 million.
