{"id":9795,"date":"2021-10-11T13:57:10","date_gmt":"2021-10-11T13:57:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsreservoir.com\/?p=9795"},"modified":"2021-10-11T15:33:29","modified_gmt":"2021-10-11T15:33:29","slug":"jonapwd-commends-el-rufai-for-passing-disability-act-into-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsreservoir.com\/?p=9795","title":{"rendered":"JONAPWD Commends el-rufai For Passing Disability Act Into Law"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">JONAPWD Commends el-rufai For Passing Disability Bill Into Law<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">BY JULIET EKWENUGO<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Kaduna<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Kaduna State chapter of\u00a0 Joint National Association of Persons With Disability (JONAPWD), has commended the Governor of the State, Mallam Nasir Ahmad el-rufai for passing the disability Bill into Law.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Chairman, Kaduna State JONAPWD, Comrade Suleiman Abdulazeez made the commendation while addressing a press conference yesterday in Kaduna.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;We highly commend the action and efforts of Kaduna State government for promoting rights of persons with disabilities.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;We believe that this Law will guarantee the rights and rehabilitation of Persons With Disabilities (PWD) to achieve equalization of opportunities and the entire disability community will be afforded full access to the society at large&#8221;.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8221; It would be recalled that in 2015 general election campaign Governor el-rufai engaged persons with disabilities and promised if elected, he will take up the bill as an Executive bill, and by extension of that engagement, His Excellency has kept to his premise&#8221;.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Abdulazeez also appreciated the Coalition of Association for Leadership Peace Empowerment and Development (CALPED) and other Non-governmental Organizations for their contributions towards the actualization of the Kaduna State Disability Law.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He also called on the Governor of Kaduna state for implementation\u00a0 framework of the Disability Law.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Persons with disabilities also appealed to Kaduna state government to consider them on the ban against motorcycle, saying that the ban added to their disability.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JONAPWD Commends el-rufai For Passing Disability Bill Into Law BY JULIET EKWENUGO Kaduna The Kaduna State chapter of\u00a0 Joint National Association of Persons With Disability (JONAPWD), has commended the Governor of the State, Mallam Nasir Ahmad el-rufai for passing the disability Bill into Law.
