The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Thursday, June 12, 2025, a public holiday in commemoration of this year\u2019s Democracy Day celebration.<\/p>\n
This was contained in a statement\u00a0 issued on Sunday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, in Abuja. According to Ajani, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulating Nigerians on achieving 26 uninterrupted years of democratic governance.<\/p>\n
Stressing the importance of the event, \u201cJune 12 represents our historic journey to building a nation where truth and justice reign, and peace is sustained and our future assured.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe last 26 years tells the story of our resilience, strength and courage and a hope renewed than ever,\u201d Dr. Tunji-Ojo said.<\/p>\n
Reaffirming Tinubu’s administration\u2019s commitment to democratic values, the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu he said is deeply rooted in the universal principles of democracy, which include the freely expressed will of the people in determining the country\u2019s political, economic, social, and cultural systems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
