She explained that many of these women remain in custody due to prolonged legal processes, despite their offences being minor and bailable.<\/p>\n<p>Comrade Maidoki emphasized that the visit was part of NAWOJ\u2019s broader mission to\u00a0<strong>amplify the voices of vulnerable women<\/strong>\u00a0through impactful reportage and public advocacy. She appealed to\u00a0<strong>government agencies, philanthropists, and civil society groups<\/strong>\u00a0to support female inmates by facilitating access to legal aid and helping those with minor cases regain their freedom.<\/p>\n<p>While receiving the journalists, the\u00a0<strong>Assistant Controller of the Custodial Centre, Lawal Talle<\/strong>, commended NAWOJ for the thoughtful visit, noting that such gestures remind inmates that society still cares about their welfare. She also commended members and the executive council for their teamwork, which ensured the success of the program.<\/p>\n<p>During the outreach, a child in urgent need of medical attention was identified, and Comrade Maidoki assured that NAWOJ would take up the case with the relevant authorities for swift intervention.<\/p>\n<p>She further called on the\u00a0<strong>Kaduna State Government<\/strong>\u00a0to collaborate with NAWOJ on future health and social programs, emphasizing that media partnership can strengthen the impact of public health campaigns across communities.<\/p>\n<p>Former NAWOJ Kaduna Chairperson,\u00a0<strong>Mrs. Jummai Yarima<\/strong>, praised the current leadership for sustaining the association\u2019s legacy of service and urged them to continue their life-changing interventions.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Secretary of NAWOJ Kaduna<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Comrade Hadiza Abdullahi Bello<\/strong>, appreciated the\u00a0<strong>Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>ENT specialists<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sight Savers<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>iMac<\/strong>\u00a0for their collaboration and support.<\/p>\n<p>Community leaders in Sabon Gero, including the\u00a0<strong>Ward Head and Youth Leader<\/strong>, expressed deep gratitude to NAWOJ for the outreach, describing it as a timely and life-saving intervention for many families.
