At the time, the DHQ denied any such link and maintained that the arrest of some military officers had nothing to do with a coup plot.<\/p>\n<p>However, investigative reports later revealed that 16 officers were arrested in the first week of October in connection with the alleged plot, while two others reportedly went into hiding.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued on Monday, the Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, disclosed that investigations conducted in line with military regulations had confirmed the involvement of some personnel in a coup plot. He said the probe had been concluded and its findings submitted to the appropriate authorities.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, officers found to have a case to answer will be arraigned before relevant military judicial panels in line with the Armed Forces Act and other service regulations.
