{"id":1766,"date":"2026-03-11T13:26:45","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T13:26:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsreservoir.com\/lifestyle\/?p=1766"},"modified":"2026-03-11T13:26:45","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T13:26:45","slug":"radda-backs-tinubus-renewed-hope-climate-awareness-tour-unveils-three-point-strategy-for-katsina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsreservoir.com\/lifestyle\/2026\/03\/11\/radda-backs-tinubus-renewed-hope-climate-awareness-tour-unveils-three-point-strategy-for-katsina\/","title":{"rendered":"Radda Backs Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Climate Awareness Tour, Unveils Three-Point Strategy for Katsina"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Radda Backs Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Climate Awareness Tour, Unveils Three-Point Strategy for Katsina<\/p>\n<p>Zainab Tanimu<\/p>\n<p>Kaduna Northwest Nigeria<\/p>\n<p>Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has declared the state\u2019s strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Climate Change Awareness Tour, while unveiling a comprehensive three-pillar strategy aimed at tackling the growing impacts of climate change.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative was formally launched at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja, where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, described the campaign as a nationwide movement intended to transform climate awareness into concrete and measurable actions.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the event, Governor Radda explained that Katsina State\u2019s climate response plan would focus on three key areas, including climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy development, and improved governance and financing for climate initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the state government is prioritizing climate-smart agricultural practices through the expansion of irrigation systems, adoption of modern farming techniques, and promotion of agroforestry programs aimed at combating desertification and land degradation.<\/p>\n<p>He further disclosed that Katsina is committed to transitioning toward a green economy by encouraging the use of decentralized renewable energy, solar-powered irrigation systems, and environmentally friendly value chains.<\/p>\n<p>These measures, he noted, are designed not only to reduce carbon emissions but also to address energy poverty in rural communities.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Radda also emphasized the importance of mobilizing climate finance and strengthening institutional frameworks to support climate action.<\/p>\n<p>He revealed plans to develop bankable climate projects and establish a climate coordination desk that will help the state attract funding from federal and international partners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClimate finance must reach the farmer, the smallholder, and the rural entrepreneur,\u201d the governor stressed, noting that grassroots participation is essential for sustainable climate solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Radda further called for stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments, highlighting the need for alignment between national climate policies and local implementation strategies.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the use of climate modelling and agricultural digitization would help guide data-driven decision-making and ensure measurable outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Reaffirming Katsina State\u2019s commitment to national climate goals, the governor pledged full cooperation with the Federal Government in advancing adaptation strategies, expanding renewable energy, and promoting sustainable land management practices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClimate change is a development multiplier.
