At the African Union (AU) Convention on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from October 3rd to 4th, 2024, NASFAT was represented by the National Women Affairs Secretary, Alhaja Ganiyat Omowunmi Babalola. Her participation at this high-level consultation with religious leaders and traditional rulers highlighted NASFAT\u2019s commitment to upholding women&#8217;s rights in Islam and its stance against violence.<\/p>\n<p>Alhaja Babalola\u2019s presence at the convention underscores NASFAT&#8217;s growing role in the global conversation about gender rights. She eloquently shared Islam&#8217;s respect for women\u2019s dignity and emphasised the importance of ending violence against women and girls in Africa. This event marks yet another milestone for NASFAT, reinforcing its dedication to creating a safer environment for women.<\/p>\n<p>Simultaneously, NASFAT continues its efforts to safeguard children\u2019s welfare. The National Children Affairs Secretary, Alhaja Muslimat Leshi, represented the society at a seminar on child domestic work, organised by the DEVATOP Center for Africa Development.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement signed by the<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">National Public Relations Secretary,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, Alhaji Shamsideen Owolabi Oseni which was made available to Newsreservoir,<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;The one-day event focused on raising awareness about the exploitation of children in domestic work and exploring strategies to eliminate this harmful practice.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During the seminar, Alhaja Leshi reiterated Islam&#8217;s condemnation of child exploitation and NASFAT\u2019s firm commitment to protecting vulnerable children. She called on stakeholders, including religious groups and civil society organisations, to collaborate in eradicating child labour and ensuring that children receive the education and care they deserve.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;NASFAT&#8217;s participation in both the AU Convention and the DEVATOP seminar is part of its broader mission to advocate for the rights and welfare of women and children. These engagements reflect the society\u2019s holistic approach to societal development, led by its National Executive Council under the leadership of Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In addition, NASFAT was represented at the 54th Annual ICAN Conference for Accountants, held at Transcorp Hotel, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Its National Treasury Secretary, Alhaji Shakirudeen Balogun\u00a0 and Ex-officio, Alhaji AbdulWaheed Arilesere&#8217;s engagement with professionals at the event, further broadened NASFAT&#8217;s involvement in diverse aspects of development.
