‘One of them is a victim’ — Don Jazzy reacts to rape allegation against D’banj
Don Jazzy, CEO of Mavin Records, has weighed into the rape allegation involving D’banj, a singer, and Seyitan Babatayo, a Twitter user.
Seyitan had accused D’banj of sexually assaulting her in a Lagos hotel in 2018. The singer cum entrepreneur would, however, deny the claim, describing it as a “slap on his marriage”.
The lady was said to have been arrested by the police on Tuesday.
On Thursday, the matter assumed a dramatic turn after Seyitan deleted the tweets wherein she made the allegations against the singer.
The development has since opened the floodgates of reactions on social media with many Nigerians divided as to who is actually telling the truth between the two of them.
But contributing to the heated discussion on his Twitter page, Don Jazzy said that the truth surrounding the situation will eventually surface, adding that “one of them is certainly a victim.”
He also reiterated his stand against rape and “injustices against women, children and everyone including oppression.”
“No matter how long a lie lasts, the truth will always prevail. The fact is that one of them is a victim and the law will protect that person. I stand firmly against rape and all injustices against women, children and everyone including oppression,” he wrote.
