Ambassador David Obama Onyekachi Geoman is from Imo state . The 10 Years old whose flair for music started at the age of three says his dream is to make it to the top and become a super star.
David, a die hard of late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, after watching his video said,
“I want to continue where Michael Jackson stopped. I want to become the next Michael Jackson.” With these assuring words of his, the young lad pursued his passion for music.
His Manager, Mr. Geoman who wears a double cap, a Manager and biological father of the music star further disclosed.
“And he went by the name Nigerian Michael Jackson, but the name was changed by a Hollywood Diva Helen snow, who after watching him on stage called him “The African Michael Jackson”.. Prophesying that he will conquer beyond Nigeria in the future and since then, the name stuck.
How has this fire brand rising star faired in such competitive world of music you may wonder?
His Manager narrates.
He actually started by dancing, in mimics to the late king of Pop but added the singing part in 2019 with his first single,
“Heal Nigeria”.
The Corona Virus Pandemic interrupted his annual Obama & Friends Children’s day Mega Peace Concert, and in fighting back, he hit the studios and the Anti-Corona Anthem was Born.
Still explaining,
“In 5years of professional entertainment, the 10yr old wonder kid entertainer already has two singles to his credit.
“Heal Nigeria, and the Anti Corona Anthem. He has a (CAC registered Entertainment Outfit) ‘African Michael Jackson Entertainment’ under whose umbrella he has started a record label AMJ Entertainment (With 2 signed Artistes), A music school and a magazine Chain Titled, the Students Digest. Not only that, he also started the AMJ AWARDS.
According to his Manager, he will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that David realizes his dream.
“He chose his career himself. I did not influence him. Since it is his choice, l will by the grace of God do all within my reach to help him achieve his dream. He said.
The young talented Onyekachi Geoman is gradually carving a niche for himself in the music industry.
His audience were always agog each time he was on stage. He has shared the same stage with top names in the industry.
Celebrities like theTuface Idibia, Small Doctor,…McTagwaye..Gordon’s.
His art has seen him travel to close to 16 states in Nigeria.
Young Onyekachi’s hard work no doubt has not gone unnoticed as within the little space of time in the music industry has performed and received various awards to his credit.
He had performed in places like Lagos and Abuja more than twice on big stages like Lagos fiesta, Eko Atlantic Lagos,
Victoria Island ! Vote Not Fight With Tuface Idibia,Throne Of laughter with Mc Tagwaye.
Amongst awards received were, ‘Teens Choice Awards, the Africa Dance Academy Award (ADAA)..As the most fierce dancer in Africa under18.
The National Humanitarian Awards, as the Humanitarian Dancer of The Year,
Africa Fashion For Peace (AFPP) Global Peace Ambassador Award.
Others are,
The Abuja Stars Award(ASA)…in recognition of his contribution to entertainment, The BEA Awards…As the Best Solo Dance in Africa, Nero Just dance Award..as the most outstanding young dancer in Africa.
The Ambassador, Save Young talents who is branded Global Peace Ambassador, because of the senseless killings in the North, just declared himself an Ambassador of Northern Nigeria.
Little star David in 2019 was invited to the panafest (year of the return) in Ghana, he became the First Nigerian to perform at the panafest.
Music career can be a very rough business but what’s worse is not pursuing your passion and giving up your dreams.
The terrain had not been an easy one for the young pop star but with God, all is possible. The Manager said.
“It has not been easy financially so we are calling on well-to -do Nigerians to please help this great talent in realizing his goal.
David is a nice boy with a very good heart. He needs support. He seeks to use his dance and songs to unite humanity.”
Few days back, David, a primary 6 pupil of St. Anne’s Nursery School, the number 3 child of Mr. and Mrs Geoman together with his Manager paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat Kaduna to seek collaboration with the media.
The Council Chairman, Comrade Adamu Yusuf thrilled by the burning flame in the young Michael Jackson in the making gave an assurance of a healthy Collaboration.
He commended the young musician’s efforts saying, music has an important role to play in our lives.
David before leaving the NUJ secretariat with his team was confered with an associate membership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
“Based on the power the constitution of the Nigeria Union of Journalists confered in me as the Chairman of this Council, l want to use this opportunity to offer an automatic associate
membership to this young man. As the youngest associate journalist in Nigeria. I also want to assure you that we are ever ready to give our support anytime so feel free to come and knock on our door.”
