Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, are scheduled to face the Jordan national football team in an international friendly match in Amman this March.
The fixture, reported by Daily Post Nigeria, is part of Jordan’s preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Middle Eastern side will make their historic debut on football’s biggest stage.
However, Nigeria’s participation in the friendly remains uncertain. The Super Eagles are currently awaiting an impending decision from world football governing body, FIFA, regarding their eligibility protest involving the Democratic Republic of Congo national football team.
The outcome of that ruling could determine whether Nigeria proceeds with the March engagement.
Meanwhile, the West African giants are also reportedly in discussions with Iran national football team over another potential friendly during the same international window.
Jordan, under the guidance of head coach Jamal Sellami, face a daunting task at the World Cup. They have been drawn in a challenging group alongside defending champions Argentina national football team, African powerhouse Algeria national football team, and European side Austria national football team.
As preparations intensify ahead of the global tournament, both Nigeria and Jordan will be hoping for clarity and competitive readiness in what promises to be a crucial international window.
