Super Four: Kaduna PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Ashiru Vows to Support KSCD YOCA As Kakuri Academy Finish Top

Kaduna State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial Candidate, in the 2019 general elections, Honourable Isa Ashiru Kudan has vowed to support the Kaduna State Community Development (KSCD) Youth Owners Club Association (YOCA) in ensuring its laudable programmes of taking youth off crime in the state if elected Governor in 2019.

Ashiru made the vow while speaking at the KSCD YOCE 2018 Super Four Competition at the Kaduna Township Stadium on Sunday December 2, 2018.

He said that if given the mandate to rule the state in 2019, issues of youth development and empowerment will be accorded top priority.

Represented by a former Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Honourable Shehu Adamu, he said that he would have been physically present, but had to attend the flag off of the PDP Presidential campaign rally in Sokoto which is also taking place on Sunday.

In an interview with newsmen, KSCD YOCA CEO, Coach Nasiru Adamu Chiji  said he was happy about the success of the Super Four.

“I am very happy to gather this kind of people here. This is not the first or second edition, we have been doing it to assist the youth and take them away from drugs and other vices.

“It has become compulsory to call on the government to come and assist. There is no club in the country you won’t find Kaduna groomed players. We call on the government to contribute to sports development,” he charged.

On the sponsorship from Naijabet and others, he said that it is a good thing they have sponsors coming in to sponsor football.

“It is a good decision because it will take the youth off streets,” Chiji added.

Coach of Kakuri Academy, Al Ameen  Ibn Musa expressing his joy while speaking to newsmen congratulated the players for a job well done.

“Our supporters are not left out for coming out in their numbers to support us all through the playoffs. We had our different game plan and approach towards every match and it’s the second time that we came from behind to claim all three points after  sharing the spoils in our first match against Gamji  Academy. I have told the players to put this success behind as we begin to prepare for next season. He said.

Kakuri Football Academy finished first position and were presented with a N150,000, cheque.

Ikhana Babes placed second position and smiled to the banks with a N100,000, cheque, while Gamji Babes finished third position and got N50,000.

Gunners FC settled for the fourth position, and received N30,000 for their efforts.

Dignitaries who were in attendance at the colourful event include: Kaduna State FA chairman, Hon. Sharreeff Kassimu, Hon. Sabo Babayaro,  Marafan Gonin gora, Alh. Kabiru Abubakar Danladi, Hon. Shehu Adamu who represented Isa Ashiru Kudan (Kaduna State PDP Gubernatorial candidate). Other dignitaries present were: Tijani Babangida (Presidential aspirant, NANPF), Ibrahim Babangida, Engr. Yusuf Abubakar (Best), Sani Abdullahi (Wallin Kakuri and chairmanship aspirant, Kaduna State Football Association), Kaduna State SWAN chairman, Mr Benjamin Isaiah, Mallam Niga and many more.
