Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has called on residents of Funtua Zone and the state at large to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, saying a renewed mandate would advance security, economic growth and development.

The Governor described the campaign flag-off as more than a political gathering, saying it offered an opportunity to present his administration’s achievements under the Building Your Future Agenda, engage with citizens and renew his commitment to building a more secure, prosperous and inclusive Katsina State.

He identified security as a major priority of his administration, noting that the government was working with security agencies, traditional institutions and the Federal Government to restore lasting peace across the state.

“Without peace, economic activities suffer, children cannot go to school, and farmers cannot go to farm. We will sustain the momentum until every resident can go about his lawful business without fear,” the Governor said.

Radda also highlighted investments in road construction, urban renewal and energy solutions, describing Funtua as a strategic commercial centre with significant potential for agricultural trade, employment generation and economic expansion.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting farmers, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), women and young people through entrepreneurship, skills acquisition and policies designed to encourage private-sector growth.

On social development, the Governor said his government was strengthening the education sector through improved schools and teacher support, while also reinforcing primary healthcare and expanding health insurance coverage for vulnerable residents.

He commended President Tinubu for the reforms being implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging that Katsina State would continue to align its policies with federal initiatives to achieve greater development outcomes.

The Governor also urged APC candidates and stakeholders to conduct their campaigns with humility, discipline and respect for democratic choices. He called on party leaders and grassroots mobilisers across the state’s 34 local government areas and 361 wards to maintain unity, promote peaceful engagement and intensify door-to-door mobilisation.

Earlier, the Director-General of the Tinubu/Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, expressed appreciation to the people of Funtua Zone for their impressive turnout.

Dangiwa said President Tinubu was repositioning the national economy, while Governor Radda was delivering development at the grassroots. He urged party members to strengthen their structures and work collectively towards electoral success.

Also speaking, the Katsina State APC Chairman, Dr. Bishir Gambo Saulawa, described the flag-off as a demonstration of the party’s strength and readiness for the 2027 elections.

He presented party flags and banners to candidates contesting the three senatorial seats, 15 House of Representatives seats and 34 State House of Assembly seats, urging them to place the collective interest of the people above personal considerations and provide effective representation.

The event attracted the Deputy Governor, Hon. Faruk Lawal Jobe; former Governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ibrahim Shehu Shema; national and state party leaders; federal and state lawmakers; local government chairmen; traditional rulers; political candidates and thousands of APC supporters from across Funtua Zone.
