2023: Ace broadcaster, Vivian Ottih Picks PDP Nomination Forms

… as she joins race for Oguta state constituency seat

Renowned broadcast journalist and human rights activist, Barr Vivian Ottih on Thursday purchased her nomination and expression of interest forms at the Imo state PDP secretariat along Okigwe road, this newspaper can authoritatively reveal.

Our correspondent gathered that the Oguta born media and legal practitioner was accompanied to the party office alongside heads of various women organizations in the state as well as representatives of National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Imo state chapter among others.

Ottih who hails from Ndionyeagorom Village in Awa, Oguta Local government Area is serving a second term as the chairperson, Imo NAWOJ.

Our correspondent gathered that Ottih worked with the Imo state Broadcasting Corporation, IBC for over 20 years until her voluntary resignation from office.

Addressing a section of the media shortly after purchase of her nomination form, she disclosed ‘ My interest in representing Oguta state constituency is to stand in as a strong voice for her people and as well as an advocate for good governance, especially for women, children and the downtrodden in the society.

She thanked the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for always encouraging the female folks to take active part in politics. Also, she expressed her gratitude to the State Woman leader, Lady Maria Mbakwe who is working tirelessly in making sure that women are given their quota in governance while soliciting the support of delegates from Oguta LGA.

According to her ‘ I shall continue to reach out to critical stakeholders and leaders of our great party, PDP and by the grace of God, it shall end in praises’, she said.
