Nigeria’s deadly Ahmed Musa Leicester City striker, currently on loan at CSKA Moscow, became the first Nigerian to score at two World Cups as the Super Eagles secured a crucial win over Iceland, who missed a penalty.

He scored both goals in Nigeria’s group stage 3-2 defeat to Argentina in Porto Alegre, Brazil, four years ago and is relishing the chance to do it again.

In the same vain, Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr had expressed optimism that the family atmosphere in his team will see them avoid defeat to Iceland in their must-win Group D game against Iceland in the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday.

Speaking in his press conference in Volgograd on Thursday, Rohr said: “We’re living like a family, we have a plan and we won’t lose tomorrow.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigeria need a draw against Argentina to go through to the next round on June 26, and Argentina and Iceland also know they have to win to have any chance of progressing.

Meanwhile, the Ex-Internationals on Friday joined other ecstatic Nigerians to congratulate the Super Eagles of Nigeria over their deserved 2-0 win over Iceland in the battle of Volgograd in the ongoing Russia 2018 World Cup. They however warned them against Argentina who according to them would approach the game like a wounded lion.

“Argentina will approach the game like a wounded lion because they lost scandalously to Croatia and they won’t want a repeat of that which will send them out in the group stage.

“Losing two matches in a row will be a thing the Argentine won’t want, so we have to be determined to beat them, “Mutiu Adepoju said.

Nigeria will face Argentina on Tuesday, June 26 to determine who qualifies for the knockout stage in the Group D standing.

The Super Eagles must go all out for victory to stand a chance of qualifying for the knockout stage of this summer’s World Cup.
