Hajj 2022: Northern Nigerian Christian Clergies Urge pilgrims to intensify prayers for world peace in Saudi Arabia
As thousands of Nigerian intending pilgrims depart to holy land for this year’s hajj operation, Christian leaders from 19 northern states have called on pilgrims to use the opportunity of being at the holy land to pray fervently for Almighty God’s intervention to bring an end to the activities of banditry, kidnapping, terrorism bedeviling the peace and stability in the region and nation at large.
Buru made this call when some Muslims organizations paid him a visit at his residence.
The visit they said was aimed at   strengthening Christian/ Muslims relationship in the country.
Pastor Buru , delivering the message on behalf of the group emphasized on the efficacy of prayer which he said can surmount any form of problem.
“There is need to pray extensively for World peace and harmony”
“Russian and Ukraine war is a total setback to world peace hence the need to pray for God’s intervention “
The General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intercessory Ministry Sabon Tasha, Kaduna in his felicitation urged all the Muslim pilgrims already at the holy land to commit the nation in their prayers for a successful conduct of 2023 general elections.
The Clergy also called on all the intending pilgrims to pray for the Nigerian Army in overcoming Boko Haram and other terrorism network .
He encouraged them to be good ambassadors of their country by exhibiting good virtues as well as promote the enviable image of the state and Nigeria, while in the Kingdom.
While appreciating the effort of the hajj commission for successfully organising this year’s hajj, he prayed for the safe return of all the intending pilgrims to Nigeria.
Similarly, pastor George Moses congratulated all Nigerian Muslims  for the successful commencement of this year’s hajj operation as he wished them all a fulfilled trip.
Responding, the leader of the group,  Mallam Mohammed Alhassan emphasized on the need to promote religions tolerance, forgiveness and better understanding among the adherence of the two religion.
He said, “we must join hands together toward promoting peaceful coexistence between different faith base organization in the country.
Mohammad added that, “last year when Christian pilgrims were going to their holy land,  l also wished them safe journey.
 He appealed to them to pray for peace in Nigeria and the rest of African country.
According to him, they were at the pastor’s house to appreciate him for assisting the less privileged with food stuffs during the Ramadan.
They were also there to felicitate with him, Christian clerics, for the United Nation’s award that was conferred on him (pastor Buru) as  best winner world international interfaith week and harmony 2022. He added.
