NSCDC Emerge Kings, Queens of Savannah Conference Volleyball League

Several top sports dignitaries were on ground to watch the excitement that filled the air in the final and deciding match for who becomes top in the Savannah Conference Volleyball League which ended in Kaduna on Saturday   as the male team of the Nigeria  Security and Civil Defense Corps  (NSCDC) subdued their arch rivals, Nigeria  Immigration  Service (NIS) to finish first and second  positions  respectively.

Dignitaries that watched  the match  included  Governor Nasir el-Rufai represented by Kaduna State Commissioner of Youth,  Sports  and Culture,  Honourable  Daniel Danauta, former  Director General of the defunct National Sports  Commission  (NSC),  Dr. Hassan Saleh Yakmut and Director Grassroots Sports Development,  Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development,  Dr. Ademola Are.

Also present were the President, Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod,  Zonal Coordinator Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development,  North West,  Mr. Olushola Luke,  Secretary General of NVBF. Maikano Alhaji Adamu, Technical  Director NVBF,   Mr. Martins Melandie and Board Member NVBF,  Mr. John Fwah.

Earlier, the NSCDC female team emerged winners of that category, qualifying for the final alongside three others, NIS,  Benue  and Kaduna  who finished second, third and fourth respectively.

In the male category, others that qualified are Kano and Plateau respectively.

For details of how they fared according to points, in the female category, NSCDC got 21 points.

NIS garnered 17 points; Benue Queens got 15, while Kaduna scored 12 points.

For the male category, NSCDC got 21 points, NIS 18, Kano got 11 points, same number of points with Plateau, but a real ahead as a result of one set  superiority over Plateau.

For details of the star match, NIS won the first set, NSCDC picked the second, third and fourth sets.

To add color+ to the event was a cultural group which displayed to the admiration of the spectators.
